Sustainability and the Environment

Over the past few years the effects of day to day working within the construction industry on the environment has become an increasingly important issue to many of our clients and indeed ourselves.

We are constantly reviewing our methods of working and are always looking to find ways of reducing our impact on the environment.

Everyone, from directors to the installation team, has a responsibility to ensure that they are doing everything they can to ensure that by carrying out their required workload, they are not having a detrimental effect on the world that surrounds them.

We look to improve the impact we have on the environment by using the following pratices;

  • Ensuring procurement of materials is carried out using the minimum possible waste factor, thus reducing the amount of material that is taken to landfill sites

  • Keeping our deliveries to site to a minimum in order to reduce the amount of CO2 we produce

  • Using materials from sustainable sources, where possible using BREEAM A rated products

  • Recycling the waste we create, wherever possible

  • Using adhesives and levelling compounds free from Volatile organic compounds

  • Educating our workforce with the knowledge that they require to improve their own environmental impact

  • Using timber from FSC certified suppliers

  • Using caution when printing correspondence

  • Using methods of correspondence that are electronic where possible

The manufacturers that we purchase form all recognise that they too have a responsibility to provide materials that are from sustainable sources.
We work closely with manufacturers who are committed to offering methods of recycling waste that arises from the installation of their products and also the waste that can be created from refurbishment works ie. existing floor coverings.
