Hi Tech Flooring have been successful in obtaining a number of new contract awards in the last quarter of the year;

Bramall Construction - 3no. Care Homes, High Wycombe

Following on from the recent housing project undertaken with Bramall in Maulden, Beds, Hi - Tech Flooring have been awarded the flooring package at 3 care homes in Buckinghamshire. The projects involve extensions to the existing homes and will comprise of the installation of JHS impervious backed carpets to bedrooms and corridors and Polyflor Safety Vinyl to wet areas throughout the building. 

Pentangle Design - Holiday Inn Express, Dunstable

Hi - Tech Flooring have been awarded the contract to install 3,000m2 of Newhey Carpets to the new 120 bedroom Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Dunstable, Beds. Following a successful working relationship on other Holiday Inn Express projects, Pentangle Design more than happy to work with us again in association with the main contractor, Vinci. The hotel is due to open its doors in May 2012.

Osborne - Newham Hospital

Newham Hospital is undergoing a major renovation as it will be used to treat any athletes with injuries during the Olympics in 2012. Following successful projects at the Luton & Dunstable and Lister Hospitals, Hi Tech Flooring have been awarded the contract to supply and install 2,500m2 of Polyflor Mystique Vinyl as part of the Accident and Emergency refurbishment. The work will be carried out in 2 phases, with completion in March 2012.

Morgan Sindall - Highwood School

We are pleased to announce that we have secured another prestigious education project with the Morgan Sindall Welwyn Garden City office. This project involves the supply and installation of a range of Nora Rubber Flooring Products and Interfaceflor Carpet Tiles. 400m2 of Noraplan Ultragrip will be used throughout w/c's, classbases and wet areas with 300m2 of Noraplan Stone Acoustic being used in the Nursery Areas. A mixture of 1,500m2 of Interfaceflor Unify and Transformation will be used throughout classroom and corridor areas. The project in scheduled for completion at the end of 2012.

Morgan Sindall - Roecroft School, Stotfold

Hi - Tech Flooring have secured the flooring and hygienic cladding package at the new Roecroft School in Stotfold, Bedfordshire. The new £5.5m facility will see the school relocate from its existing location to a new 2 storey building less than a mile from the existing site. We will be installing 2000m2 of Heckmondwike Carpet, Altro Suprema Vinyl and Altro Mondosport Wood Effect flooring alongside over 300m2 of Altro Whiterock Pastels and Chameleon hygienic cladding. The project is due to finish at the end of September with the school moving into during October.

 

Kier Marriott - Campus Living, Luton

We are proud to working on another student accommodation project with Kier Marriott. The University of Bedfordshire is spending £40m on a brand new 850 ensuite bedroom student accommodation facility at its Luton Campus. The project will see us install over 17,000m2 of carpets and safety vinyl to bedrooms, corridors and staircase areas. It is the 3rd project that we have worked on at the University alongside Kier Marriott following the successful completion of The Hub and the more recent Multi Faith Centre.  

 

Playboy Casinos, Mayfair - Phelan Construction

The original Playboy Club defined class and luxury in the 1960s, attracting some of the most influential and glamorous clientele from around the world. The new and exclusive members club will offer a refined, contemporary gaming area complemented by an exclusive cocktail bar, high end restaurant and urbane club lounge right in the heart of Mayfair. Brintons cushioned back woven carpet tiles, emblazoned with the world famous 'Bunny' logo in various designs will feature in all areas of the clubs lounges and gaming areas. We are proud to be associated with a project that sees the return of a legendary venue to the city of London.

 

Woburn Golf Club - Priorygate

This project is one that we were extremely pleased to secure, especially as we hold our annual golf tournament at the club each year. The refurbishment of the club sees a new reception area, full kitchen refurbishment, an extension to the already substantial function area and a dining room bearing the name of the club professional, Ian Poulter. Newhey Carpets are providing over 1200m2 of axminster carpet in 2 designs, all installed on a double stick underlay system. Altro Stronghold 3mm vinyl will be laid throughout the new kitchen and bar areas with Junckers Nordic Beech being laid to the Poulter Room.

 

Milton Keynes Crematorium - Kier Marriott

Kier Marriott are constructing a new chapel at Crownhill Crematorium. The new chapel will be a distinctive, high quality public building with state-of-the-art audio visual facilities and will incorporate a number of innovative environmental benefits. The 145 seat chapel will sit alongside the existing 100 seat chapel at Crownhill Crematorium and is due to be completed in spring 2011. Hi - Tech Flooring will be installing over 200m2 of Boen Single Strip 15mm Oak Flooring to the chapel area along with 125m2 of Paragon Carpet Tiles to the ancillary offices and Noraplan Ultragrip Rubber to all wet areas.

 

Training Success

Congratulations to Nick Fisher and Nick Perkins who have both completed their NVQ Level 4 in Construction Contracting Operations. Alongside this, they have both gained their CSCS Management Card. Nick Fisher said "Staff training is always something that tends to be scaled back when the economic climate is tough, so we were both grateful to the learning providers that we are associated with for the assistance they gave us in gaining these qualifications. The CSCS scheme is something that we have been fully committed to for a long time and it's important that it is implemented from the base of the company through to director level. Ensuring that our staff our trained to the highest level has always been something that we are passionate about and we will continue to ensure that they are given every opportunity to further themselves in their careers".
